What to Expect - Online Training

The idea of online yoga instruction and personal training may seem odd to you if you’ve never done it before. But as you get used to it, you’ll see it’s much like any other kind of personal training—except you don’t have to go anywhere to do it.

What you need to have

You don’t need much to have a fun and effective online yoga or workout session! Your trainer will incorporate any workout equipment you have into your session, but none is required. All you need is:

  • Good internet connection
  • Charged up computer with webcam
  • Skype, FaceTime or Google account for video chat
  • Space the size of a yoga mat
  • Water

 

What you need to know

Here are some helpful hints for anyone who’s new to online personal training:

It’s a little awkward at first. If you’ve never interacted with a trainer over video chat, it will seem a little funny at first. You’ll need to move the camera around a little bit, and it will take a session or so to find the best setup. That’s one of the reasons we offer the complimentary session!

You’ll still need to work hard. Just because your trainer isn’t in the room with you doesn’t mean they can’t see you. Expect some good motivation!

Your feedback is critical. It’s up to you to let your trainer know if any exercise is causing you any pain. You’ll also have a chance to keep in touch throughout the week, even on non-workout days, to let your trainer know how you’re feeling—both physically and mentally.

Some day you won’t need us. After your program is done, you’ll have initiated a lifetime of looking and feeling great—and you won’t always need a personal trainer or meal planner. Our goal is to help you with the initial change, and give you the skills you need to keep going on your own.

 

Do I have to participate in Skype sessions? Of course not! If you are more comfortable with it, I am happy to simply write up your custom workouts and send them over on a weekly basis.
